Growing up, I always observed my teachers and how they engaged with us. Some teachers significantly impacted my life, including my high school math teacher, Mr. Owh. This teacher taught me that although our general education is essential, at the end of the day, do what you love most, whether academic or not. Although math isn't particularly favorable, he created a comfortable ambiance where students explore their interest in pursuing a career they desire. That is a classroom I want to build someday with him in mind.
Over the years, I have learned that change is needed in the classroom and on a grander scale. While attending university, I obtained an abundant amount of experience in administration. This experience sparked my interest in administration and how it can be incorporated into my Education of Arts experience. I have worked in multiple fields, from For-profit organizations to school programs and, most recently, vocational medical school. All these fields have taught me how crucial it is to have administrative assistance. My ambition is to pursue art education from an administrative approach. My most recent accomplishment was being the lead force in implementing a Learning Management System that has become active this year. This project took six months to complete; in that time, I had to reach out to multiple companies and meet and cross-analyze all the features their systems had to offer. I then had to comply with contracts, supply these to my directors, and show them what best fit their needs for the college. Once Blackboard Learn was chosen as our LMS, I thoroughly studied the system and became a head system administrator. I have been involved in the design layout, curriculum content, and placement of staff and faculty. Over 300+ students and faculty will use this system. |
